2021 Volkl Yumi 80 Women's Skis

Light, quick, and precise, the Volkl Yumi 80 skis are a fantastic choice for intermediate and advanced skiers who spend most of their time on the front side of the mountain. Thanks to the shape, profile, and construction, the Yumi 80 is a great blend of front side carving and all-mountain versatility. At 80 mm underfoot, the skis are super-quick from edge to edge. While they’re not really wide enough for true powder skiing, they do have enough width to handle the snow when it gets soft or broken. They generate about a 15-meter overall turn radius at this shape, and due to the 3D radius sidecut, they’re able to make longer shaped turns as well as short-swingers with little to no hesitation. This is great technology from Volkl, allowing the ski to basically make any shape turn at any time. There’s a bit of tip and tail rocker that add to the all-mountain personality of the skis, but it mainly exists to make the entry and exit of the turn smoother and easier rather than being a flotation aid like some other rocker profiles. Built with a multi-layer wood core consisting of poplar and beech, the Yumi 80 also has Volkl’s Glass frame. This consists of a fiberglass frame that wraps around the outer edge of the ski, applying more pressure to the edges of the skis. As a result, the Yumi 80 is incredibly precise for how light it is, and will instill a ton of confidence in today’s modern front side skier.
